This little boy's birthday could not come fast enough this year....
I worked at preschool on the day they celebrated his birthday. It was fun to have a front row seat for all the special attention he received. He was SO happy that day!
I loved playing puzzles with him and watching him play with his friends and sing the Halloween songs. He chose to bring Rice Krispy treats on sticks for snack. His friends sang "Happy Birthday" and he got to blow out the candles. They sang "How old are you now?" and he answered "Four!"
The morning of his actual birthday he got to open one present: his Mario shirt and some little Mario friends. He loved playing with them all day. We went to the park to burn off some of the birthday excitement and those guys came with us.
Andrew got to choose a restaurant for dinner that night. This is a treat for everyone, since we never go out to eat with four kids! (Luckily Red Robin is a kid-friendly restaurant). Andrew loved getting a birthday song from the waiters and an ice cream sundae!
Andrew got some great presents for his birthday!
His birthday cake request: chocolate! It doesn't get much more chocolate than chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, m&ms, and kit kats! He loved the Mario figures that decorated it too!
Four things we love about our Andrew-boy:
1. He is all boy: intense, competitive, determined, active.
2. He's funny: he is the source of our best entertainment. The way he talks so maturely for his age constantly makes us laugh. He also quotes movie lines and gets Lauren laughing like no one else.
3. He's sensitive. He is so kind to Ella. He never forgets hugs and kisses for bedtimes and good-byes. He feels bad when he does something wrong.
4. He's a do-er. He loves to do things himself--fix his "spiky" hair, make sandwiches, set the table, his Saturday chores...he gets so much pride from doing these things independently and I love watching him master these skills.
Two months old
This might have been when we first coined Andrew's nickname as a baby: "The professor". We put this tag blanket from GrammZ on him as a wig and he just looked so serious. We giggled and giggled but he never cracked a smile! That nickname doesn't really fit him anymore--we're glad that these days he's full of smiles and makes us laugh every day!
